HISTORY
The Exceptional Children's Rodeo, now in its fourth year, honors and celebrates the Navajo Nation's special children - those who are living with mental and/or physical challenges.
"The fourth exceptional rodeo is important because it signifies that this event completes the circle," planning team chairman George Arthur said, "the Exceptional Children's Rodeo is now a permanent part of the Navajo Nation Fair. We will no longer allow our special needs individuals to be forgotten and cast aside."
The rodeo continues to represent the Navajo Nation's commitment to recognize and honor Dine who are mentally and/or physically challenged.
Each year, the rodeo gets bigger and better as more people becom aware of its purpose. The planning team is working on making this year's rodeo the best yet, in honor of the sacredness of the fourth year.
